I hadn't heard of this hidden gem despite living in the area for several years. We visited on a Thursday afternoon, admiring the stunning views during the drive there (about 15 minutes from Oldham). Luckily we arrived between 12 and 2, the hours when they serve food in the week. Greeted by very friendly staff, we sat down to an excellent meal. The soup course came free when ordering mains. It should be noted that the mains are of very generous size - unless you possess a more than healthy appetite, you may want to skip the starter! The main course was well cooked, particularly the meat and fish.
